Cookie, Storage & Analytics Policy

Last updated July 2026

Essential

We set a small http-only session cookie to keep you signed in and to secure requests. This is strictly necessary for the service and is not used for tracking.

Local storage (first-party)

We use your browser's localStorage to remember preferences and choices you make in the app — for example saved venues/events, theme, and your consent choice (qb.consent.v1). This stays on your device.

Analytics (consent-based)

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage. It runs only after you consent, with IP anonymisation enabled and ad personalisation / Google Signals disabled. If you decline, no analytics is loaded. You can change your choice any time in Privacy Settings.

Map tiles

Map imagery is served by CARTO/OpenStreetMap; loading tiles shares your IP with those providers as a normal part of fetching map images.

Managing it

Use Privacy Settings to change your consent choice or export/clear local data, or clear your browser storage at any time.

These documents are provided in good faith and describe how queer.bar actually works today. They are drafts, not legal advice; have them reviewed by a qualified lawyer and complete the bracketed operator details before relying on them. Compliance with the EU GDPR, UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018, the US state privacy laws (incl. CCPA/CPRA) and other applicable regimes is an ongoing organisational responsibility, not something software alone establishes.
